Christmas Card Club "Reindeer"

Good morning all...a day late but what's 24 hours between friends??

Lorraine gave us the topic "Reindeer" this time and here is my make.

Typically I'd used my last reindeer topper, so this time I picked up my stamp box and found this fairly recent purchase from Woodware sitting waiting to be used. I decided I wanted to do some heat embossing but wasn't sure how well it would work...I was pleasantly surprised how crisp the image turned out. The image was then simply matted and layered with dies from Spellbinders and Lawn Fawn.

You'll find a list of the ladies in my sidebar if you'd like to see what they made.

Stencil Sunday #72

Good evening all.

It's my turn again to offer some inspiration on the Stencil Sunday post today over at STAMPlorations. Today I have a 12"x12" canvas to share with you.

I have had three of these planned in my mind for ages...one for each of my niece and nephew's weddings and finally managed the first of my niece's special day. Sadly there were no photos of hubby and I together that day so I've used one of me and my beautiful niece.

I added multi colours of acrylic paint to the canvas randomly with a small brayer, then added some stamping using both Archival Inks and Silver EP.

I added texture paste through the dots all over stencil, then added a bit more paint and some Distress Crackle Paint.

Finally I sprayed some DecoArt Media Mister through the Hearts all Over stencil to add some corner detail.

My main focal point was layered up and stuck with a hot glue gun....cheesecloth, lace, hessian, a Prima photo frame and button. The labels were cut and stamped using words from Trendy Butterflies onto kraft card. All other words were stamped onto tissue and attached with medium gel. Butterflies and Memories word from my stash.

I hope you like what you see here today and we'd love you to join in our Mixed Media Challenge which runs until the end of the month...non card projects only and remember to use a stencil.

Stencil Sunday #71 + November Mixed Media Challenge

Good evening all.

The seasons have definitely changed this last week....so cold and dark so quick, time to hibernate me thinks!

First Sunday of the month so it's time to put my stencils to good use for the Mixed Media challenge over at STAMPlorations. A little upcycling this time.

I used a translucent acrylic paint to coat inside the jar. Once dry I added the stencilling to each side using the Bloom Silhouettes stencil with some Sparkle Medium and Radiant Gels.

Some lace and a bow, along with a tealight et voila! Not the best photos unfortunately as the camera wouldn't play ball.

We'd love you to come along and join us but please remember it's anything but a card and you must use a stencil.

STAMPlorations Holiday TAGplorations

Good afternoon all.

Huge excitement over at STAMPlorations today as we host our very first Holiday TAGplorations event, I hope you can join in the fun. You have three weeks to join in...so get making those holiday tags (any holiday) and link up on the STAMPlorations blog here.

I started by cutting a tag using the largest of the Luggage Tags nesting dies from a piece of sticky back linen...a failed gelli plate piece which I knew would come in useful for something!

I then coated the tag with Distress Crackle Paint...I have several jars and this is the first outing!

Once dry I stuck the linen to another tag cut from Kraft cardstock then used Radiant Gel through the Christmas Reindeer stencil.

To finish I used gilding wax around the outside of the tag, inked some stars using a Sharpie pen and the Oh My Stars stencil and added my sentiment from the Holiday Artsy stamp set. Ribbons and pearls were upcycled from a cracker. I love how this turned out and must have another play soon with the crackle paints.
